The National Association of Asian American Professionals is a non-profit organization that cultivates and empowers
Asian & Pacific Islander leaders through professional development, community service, and networking. As the
largest and fastest-growing API professionals association, NAAAP continues to provide its members with the tools
and resources to advance careers and empower Asians and Pacific Islanders to become great leaders and valuable
employees. To achieve our goals, NAAAP offers a diverse range of professional development programs at the local
and national levels, engages its membership in community service, and organizes professional networking events.
These may include a series of panels, workshops, seminars, web-based sessions, and networking.
Success Through Empowered Partnerships (STEP)
- STEP creates valuable connections by pairing mentors with mentees within the Asian community. This program provides training for mentors to enhance their mentoring skills, and offer guidance to mentees on building strong, effective relationships.
- STEP supports the personal and professional growth of mentees but also empowers mentors to be more impactful in their roles.
- STEP fosters a supportive environment where both mentors and mentees can learn, grow, and succeed together.
- STEP is open to any applicant, including non-NAAAP members and non-Asian backgrounds, who can participatevirtually, in person, or remotely.
Mission of STEP
To inspire, cultivate, and develop sustained connections across diverse communities through meaningful
relationships and mentorship.
Vision of STEP
STEP develops and empowers Asian professionals through mentorship connections.
In the words of STEP participants...
“Mentorship is a really powerful tool for growth, and in my experience, this has been life-changing!”
“Great intentions; and a safe platform to help foster meaningful relationships.”
“The match process was critical to the success of the program. Well done, NAAAP! I would like to continue
this program to get paired up with additional mentors.”
