    A Childhood Marked by Resilience

At age five, Ann Tran’s most vivid memory of America was the sight of soldiers guarding jeeps at Fort Chaffee Refugee Camp in Arkansas. Nearly five decades later, Ann stands as a powerful example of the American dream—transforming from a Vietnamese refugee into a experienced professional in cosmetic and integrative medicine.

    A Foundation Built on Freedom

In 1975, the Tran family made history as the first complete family—parents and five children—to arrive in America from Vietnam following the war. Their motivation was clear: freedom over communism.

After just one week at Fort Chaffee, they were welcomed by sponsors in Nicholasville, Kentucky, where Ann’s parents started over completely—learning English, finding jobs, and pursuing education.

“My parents had to start completely over. Education became the key to our family’s success.” — Ann Tran

    Finding Her Focus in Medicine

Like many ambitious professionals, Ann originally wanted to “do everything” in medicine—only to find that such a wide focus made her blend in rather than stand out. Her career took a pivotal turn when she discovered her passion for laser technology and cosmetic medicine.

“Lasers were my passion. When treatments for skin rejuvenation got FDA approval, I knew I truly belonged in this field.”

The Power of Community & Networking

Ann’s professional momentum accelerated when she embraced the power of strategic networking. A chance encounter with Marja B. from Business Networking International (BNI) changed everything.

“Networking gave me tremendous exposure, and it helped improve my public speaking and social skills.”

The sense of community and support she experienced through BNI continues today, particularly within Asian professional circles like NAAAP.

    Blending Aesthetics with Integrative Health

Today, Ann is a cosmetic physician associate at Skin Science Tampa in Wesley Chapel, where she brings together the best of aesthetic medicine and integrative wellness.

    Her services include:

    • Cosmetic Treatments: BBL Heroic & Moxi lasers, Botox, dermal fillers, medical skincare

    • Wellness Solutions: Energy devices, nutritional testing, supplements

“I used to focus solely on making people look younger. Now I integrate natural health approaches—energy work, proper nutrition, and gut health—to help people feel younger and live longer.”

    Mentorship and Cultural Connection

A proud member of NAAAP Tampa, Ann believes deeply in the value of Asian representation and mentorship.

“Asians understand other Asians—just like how we’re selective about hairstylists or restaurants. I love mentoring students and new grads.”

    Her advice for young professionals?

“You must love what you do. When you truly love your work, it doesn’t feel like work—it becomes rewarding.”

    A Life Committed to Growth

Ann’s journey doesn’t stop at the clinic. She’s a certified NAET (Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique) practitioner and an avid learner.

“I’m always growing—through podcasts, YouTube, and courses. My motto? Healthy gut, healthy life.

    Legacy of Transformation

From that small girl at Fort Chaffee to a pioneer in modern wellness, Ann Tran’s journey is a roadmap for resilience, reinvention, and representation.

Her legacy? Helping others transform—not just outwardly, but from within.
